The Back Dragger  was patented by inventor Brian L. Centerbar of upstate NY and was granted on Jan 21, 2020 from the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The process in which it took to patent, edit and finalize The Back Dragger was roughly a seven-year period.

In Brian's words, "The original idea for building the Back Dragger was for grooming my motocross track. After using it and seeing how well it worked pulling dirt and leveling the ruts, I realized how universal The Back Dragger was and how many purposes it can serve. Not only can it be used in the summer months, it can also be used in the winter months for scraping snow and ice. Many people will now benefit from the multiple uses of The Back Dragger. It's considered a multi-purpose tool that can lift, drag, pull and tow by the use of a vehicle."
